ARIZONA TRAVEL GUIDE

Hey Guys!!

I just got back from Scottsdale last week and seriously had the best time ever. Conner and I went and stayed with his best friend Dan and seriously got sooo much accomplished in 4 days, it was amazing. I've never been to Arizona before but have heard amazing things about how beautiful it is and it sure didn't disappoint.

We flew in late Friday night and landed in AZ at around 9:45. Our friend Dan lives in Arcadia, which is about 15 minutes from everything so it's a perfect central location. His apartment is walking distance from a bar called The Porch so went there and got a couple of drinks since it was still pretty early there. The Porch is an awesome bar that has great indoor/outdoor seating with great food. We went there around 5 times throughout our trip so it was deff one of our go-to's of the trip.

Saturday:

We basically just bar-hopped and drank all day on Saturday so I'll just list out all of the bars that I can remember (lolz) that we went to.

Brunch at RnR-
This place gets pretty lit for brunch so we stayed here for a couple of hours. I started off the day with an aperol spritz bc basic and followed that with bottomless mimosas. There were a ton of bachelorette parties here so I deff recommend this place if you're looking for a good time with your girls.

Patties-
This was one of those cool bars that was completely covered in one dollar bills. We only stayed here for a little bit and got some vodka sodas and enjoyed the air conditioning.

Boondocks-
This bar is another great outdoor bar that's huge and also has some covered seating as well. We all split a giant pretzel with beer cheese and drank some rose.

Back to The Porch-
We went back to the porch to get some chicken wings and more drinks before we took a well needed nap before nighttime.

The Vig-
After we all took a well needed nap, we came here to get some drinks before our night out. This is another bar that was walking distance from Dan's apartment so it was nice to be able to easily get there. I had two lemon drop martinis before we left for the next bar.

Kelly's-
Just another good sport's bar with a nice outdoor section and pool tables and such. This place reminded me a college bar with a lot of young people and pretty crowded but still a lot of fun!

Back to the Porch again....-
We went back to the porch again for the last bar of the night haha there's just nothing better than a glass of pinot grigio at 1:30 in the morning.

Sunday:

We woke up pretty early with no hangovers on Sunday which was really a miracle after the long day we had on Saturday. I was really thankful I didn't feel like death because we were road tripping to Flagstaff/Sedona. The drive was around 2.5 hours which wasn't bad at all.

We first stopped in Flagstaff to explore the downtown and get lunch at Lumberyard which is a local brewery. You can tell that Flagstaff is a pretty old town so it was cool to see the history sitting right by the mountains.

We then drove the remaining drive down to Sedona. The drive from Flagstaff to Sedona was awesome because you could see the change from the green mountains to all of the red rock. Once we got to Sedona, we checked in to our hotel for the night before we decided to walk around.

We stayed at Los Abrigados Resort which was a huge property in Sedona. It worked out super nice because our room was set up like a condo with a full living room with a bedroom.

At sunset we did a short hike to one of the Vortex's that was close to downtown. The Vortex is apparently where there a lot of energy coming from the rocks and it makes all of the trees and such grow all spiraled and stuff. If you are super spiritual, it is said to bring you closer to whatever higher energy you believe in.

The view of the sunset from there was unreal and we got the best view of all of the red rock surrounding the Vortex. There was a man playing the flute up there and everyone was just dead silent so it really gave you that calm spiritual vibe that everyone says Sedona is.

We then got dinner at Blackrock which was a really nice outdoor restaurant that overlooked the red rock. I got a nice glass of rose and ate an entire charcuterie board as my dinner.

Of courseeee it was Thrones Sunday so we made it a priority to watch it sometime that night. Since Arizona time is 3 hours back from Michigan, Conner and I made sure to turn our phones to airplane mode so we wouldn't get any spoilers.

We ended the night drinking wine, watching thrones, and then it was my birthday at midnight!!!

Me at the top of the hike!!!

Monday:

My 24th birthday whoohooo!!!!

We woke up pretty early and got a head start on the day by doing the Cathedral Rock hike. Conner and I are sooooo out of shape we actually had to stop every couple of minutes because we thought we were dying haha. This hike wasn't just a little walking trail you took, it was legit rock climbing up the damn mountain. We were basically free soloing up to the top. Once we got up there though, the view was amazing. It was deff an accomplishment that I kinda worked out on my birthday haha.

Once we climbed down, we got lunch at Rotten Johnny's pizza before we headed back to Scottsdale. We were all craving pizza so bad so it tasted amazinggg after our long hike.

Once we got back to Scottsdale, we all got ready to go to my birthday dinner.

We got dinner at Culinary Dropout in the Fashion Square area of Scottsdale. I of course drank a couple lemon drop martinis and got their fried chicken which was sooo good.

We ended the night at the casino which didn't end well for any of us. When we were in Sedona on the vortex, we were trying sooo hard to manifest us winning a ton of money but it obvi didn't work out in our favor hahahah. We blew through wayy too much money and drank wayyy too many vodka sodas for our own good. 😂

It was one of the best birthdays however and I'm just glad I got to spend it somewhere warm with great people!!

Tuesday:

This was our last full day and we deff took our timing getting up in the morning since we've already accomplished so much. Conner and Dan love soccer so we went the bar Cheeseburgers and Cold Beer to watch the game and get lunch.

We then went to the W Scottsdale to layout by the pool for the rest of the afternoon. The pool was soooo nice and there's no cover to lay by the pool if go during the week. I also saw that Brandon Charnas was there over the weekend so you already know I was trying to keep my eye out for him haha. (if you know, you know.)

We finished off the night getting margaritas at the bar Zips and of course ended up at the porch for drinks and another big pretzel with beer cheese.

We got home pretty early and called it a night because our flight was at 6:00 am the next morning! It was such a successful trip and I already can't wait to go back.

If you've ever been to Scottsdale, what was your favorite thing you did?!

Thanks for reading!

xx,
Em
