A WEEKEND IN SAN FRANCISCO

Is there anything better than a weekend away with your college besties?

7 of us flew in to San Francisco from around the country to visit our college BFF Summer over Halloween weekend. She recently moved to SF with her boyfriend so it was the perfect excuse to take a mini vacation. All of us that went also hate Halloween so we purposely chose this weekend to get away from the festivities. I just call it smart planning hehe.

Thursday:

We all landed at different times on Thursday so this day was mostly for hanging around until all of us arrived. I arrived pretty early so a couple of us went across the bridge to Sausalito which is a super cute little town on the water.

We got drinks at Angelino's and of course I got an aperol spritz. There's just nothing better than sipping on a spritz in the warm sun.

Once all the girls got in we went to sushi at Sakesan on Ocean Avenue. It was one of those authentic places where you have to take your shoes off and sit at one of those low top tables. It was soooooo good though and had the best unique sushi roll options.

We ended our first time just sipping wine by the fire and catching up since we knew we had a long weekend ahead.

Friday:

Okay, so this was forsureee the most action packed day out of the weekend. I'm just going to list out all of the places we went to in case you want to screenshot!

Brunch at Le Marais Bakery:

This spot is super Instagramable and had the best brunch to start off our day. We got carafes of mimosas for the table and each got a customizable board full of delicious breakfast foods. There's honestly nothing better than a giant scoop of goat cheese wrapped in prosciutto to start off a long day of sightseeing and drinking.

Famous Irish Coffees at The Buena Vista:

We stopped here after brunch and got the strongest Irish Coffee I've ever had. Apparently this place is super famous and has been all over Food Network. It was absolutely packed in there but the service was nice and quick and we barely waited to get our drinks.

Fisherman's Wharf:

This is just a classic tourist spot in San Francisco but it is a must see. It has all the classic spots like a wax museum, Bubba Gump, t-shirt shops, the whole deal. We got ice cream and walked around and enjoyed the tourist vibes of the area. This is also the place with the iconic sea lions on the pier which is also a SF staple.

Big Bus Tour:

Is there anything more tourist than a double decker bus tour around a new city? This was a must for us because we just needed the full on tourist experience. We got on the tour in Fisherman's Wharf and it took us around downtown and all of the major stops. We got off at the Painted Ladies which are the houses from Full House.

Dinner at Perry's:

This place won my heart solely because they had a cocktail with both vodka and aperol in it...it was seriously the most delicious and refreshing drink I've ever had. I got the Spicy Shrimp Fettuccine and it was amazing. I highly recommend this place for an all-American cuisine and good vibes.

Bars on Union Street:

We finished the night off with hitting the bars on Union Street. All the bars had a very college vibe so it was super fun to just drink and dance all night with the gills.

Saturday:

We did less tourist activities this day and mostly just drank our way around the city. Most of our flights were pretty early on Sunday so we wanted to drink more during the day so we could have a chiller night.

Brunch at The Riddler:

This restaurant is a champagne bar with brunch and it definitely did not disappoint.  They had these insane tater tot waffles for brunch that we all ended up getting. The waffle I got had creme fraiche, smoked salmon, tomato, onion, and lots of herbs. It was truly unreal. We finished up brunch with a table full of chambongs. I can't think of a better way to start the afternoon.

Drinks at Anina:

Super cute beachy bar with a great outdoor area. I obvi got multiple aperol spritzes because duhhh. They also have giant shareable bowls that are insanely strong and will most definitely get you drunk.

Drinks at The Lot:

This bar is literally just a parking lot with picnic tables and benches but it was lit on Saturday afternoon. It reminded me of a college tailgate but with very very expensive drinks.

Drinks at Del Mar:

This bar had a really cool palm print/beachy aesthetic with tons of board games to play. We came here after The Lot for drinks and ended up staying for a long time playing giant jenga and what do you meme lol. The bar was pretty dead for a Saturday afternoon but that just meant no waits at the bar holllaaa.

Dinner at Doppio Zero:

Insane Italian food. We all got espresso martinis to start because we're fancy and I got the ravioli as my meal. The ravioli was stuffed with mushrooms and ricotta with a fondue truffle sauce. 😛  So good.

We ended up back at Summer's early and just hung out and drank wine all night chatting. I was actually in bed by around 1030 which was just amazing.

This was seriously the best girls weekend ever and I cannot stress enough how important it is to make sure you see your college friends! We are making it a tradition to plan a girls weekend once a year in a new city each time.

Big shout out to Summer for being the best host ever. 💕

Thanks for reading guys!! Let me know if you go to SF and do any of the same things as us.

xx,
Em
