DENVER TRAVEL GUIDE

Hi Guys!

I'm back from Denver and had the best time ever! Denver  is one of those cities with so much to do even in the winter. The weather was in the 40s and 50s the first two days and then it ended up snowing around 8 inches our last day. It was the perfect mix of spring and winter to provide different activities for us to do.

Where We Stayed:

We stayed in an airbnb in the City Park area which was perfect walking distance to local bars and restaurants and about 10 minutes from downtown. It was in a cute little house and Conner and I got a great deal on it.

Here is the link to the airbnb we stayed in.

What We Did:

Conner and I got there at around 10:00 pm Friday night so we just stopped by a local bar for a drink after we unpacked at our airbnb. We got a drink at Wyman's which is a homey little Chicago bar in the Capital Hill area.

Saturday:

Brunch at Tupelo Honey- Amazing brunch spot right around the corner from Union Station. This restaurant has all the southern traditional meals such as pimento cheese, oysters, and grits. It also had a great bottomless mimosa deal that we took advantage of. Conner and I met up with my friend Natalie and her boyfriend for brunch but ended up bar hopping all day with Nat.

Union Station- This is a must do if you're downtown. There's a ton of restaurants and shops inside the train station and it deff gives you the Grand Central Station vibe. We stopped at the Terminal Bar for a local Denver beer and then just walked around the station.

Margs at Rio Grande- We stopped here during the afternoon to gets some spicy margs and chips and salsa.

Dispensary- This was just a cool thing to check out to see how dispensaries are like in cities where weed is legal. It obvi is in Michigan now but we're not gonna see dispensaries like this probably for a couple of years.

We ended the night at Natalie's friends apartment drinking wine and watching the sunset. How sick is that view though???

Sunday:

Breakfast at Denver Central Market- We got breakfast here early Sunday morning and a nice bagel sandwich was the perfect fix for our hangovers. This market was super trendy and had different vendors such as a meat and seafood market, juices, coffee, breakfast, lunch, and a full bar.

Drinks at Avelina- We just stopped here after walking around Coors Field to get some early afternoon drinks. I got an aperol spritz of course and Conner got another local Colorado beer.

Denver Zoo- Conner and I love the zoo and we just heard that the zoo here was great. The animal enclosures were huge and since it was pretty warm out, the animals were super active. This is a must see if you have any down time during the day.

Lunch at Illegal Pete's- This is like the breakfast version of Qdoba or Chipotle. They had super delicious burritos and bowls but you could add potatoes instead of rice which was amazingggg. We were literally starving after the zoo and this hit the spot big time. Also a great hangover food as well.

Walked around 16th Street Mall- This was a strip of downtown dedicated to just shops, restaurants, and touristy things.

Dinner at Rock Bottom Brewery- We were still pretty full from our lunch so decided to stop here to get beers and giant soft pretzel with cheese. If I was more hungry I would of deff gotten a full meal here. It was also right on the 16th Street Mall so it was in a really nice location.

Drinks at Viewhouse- This was an awesome rooftop bar that had a whole tent in the parking lot setup with a DJ, volleyball, cornhole, and booths with fireplaces. It was pretty lit for a Sunday night and the perfect end to a long day. We left the bar and got giant slices of pizza and went back to our airbnb to pass out.

Monday:

It happened to snow like 8 inches in the middle of the night so we woke up to a legit winter wonderland. Our plan was to wake up pretty early because we were renting a car to go to Boulder for the day. The snow put us back a couple of hours but nonetheless we made it Boulder!

Breakfast at Foolish Craigs- This was a suggestion from Conner's friend and it did not disappoint. I got a pint of mimosa and a giant savory crepe. It was sooo good.

Shopped around Downtown- There's a ton of cute stores and local shops in the downtown area so we walked around and shopped all afternoon.

Hiked in Chautauqua Park- This was a pretty easy and super beautiful hike just 10 minutes from downtown Boulder. I didn't bring any boots at all so I hiked in the snow in my ratchet tennis shoes haha so I knew I needed a pretty easy hike. It was pretty uphill but it was awesome to get so close to the mountains. We ended up driving up the mountain after the hike and it was crazy how high we got.

Drove into Golden, CO- We decided to drive into Golden to check out the Coors factory but didn't realize by the time we got there, the brewery tours were already over. ¯\_(惄)_/¯We didn't really do much there other than drive around but I'm sure the tour would of been awesome if we would of done it.

Vail Colorado- We had a YOLO moment and decided to have a mini road trip to Vail. I don't even ski but I was dying to go and see the cute village by the mountains. It was dark by the time we got there so we couldn't really see much but the little village was awesome.

We got a beer at Vail Brewing Company and just walked around the village in all of the shops. We ate dinner at Pazzo's Pizzeria which reminded me of an 80's old mom and pop restaurant. We only spent a couple of hours there but Conner and I decided we want to come back to Vail for a long ski weekend aka him skiing and me drinking in the lodge.

We got home by like 9:30 and immediately we were ready for bed. We fit sooooo much into this long weekend, I'm honestly proud of us. Denver is an awesome city and I'm dying to go back in the Summer to take advantage of their rooftop bars.

I hope this post gives you some ideas and inspiration next time you make a trip to Colorado!

Outfit details will be linked down below.

Emily
